Bright’s 14 points, 14 boards lead Sam Houston St. to win

CONWAY, Ark. (AP)—Ryan Bright had 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead Sam Houston State to 71-55 win over Central Arkansas on Saturday.

John Gardiner also had 15 points for the Bearkats (19-5, 7-4 Southland Conference.)

Nate Bowie led Central Arkansas (13-12, 3-8) with 17 points. The Bears held a 1-point lead at halftime, but shot just 9-of-28 in the second half, compared with the Bearkats’ 15-of-26. Sam Houston State’s largest lead was 18 points, with 1:28 remaining.

DeLuis Ramirez and Ashton Mitchell each added 11 points for Sam Houston State. Durell Nevels had 12 points and 11 rebounds for Central Arkansas.
