Alabama State takes win over Alabama A&M behind Hayles’ 26 points
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP)—Andrew Hayles scored a game-high 26 points in leading Alabama State to a 85-70 win over Alabama A&M Saturday night.
The Hornets (14-8, 10-2 Southwestern Athletic Conference) led 49-35 at the half after shooting 56.7 percent and keeping the Bulldogs (8-14, 5-7) to 40 percent shooting from the floor.
Richard Lott scored 11 points to round out the double digit scoring for Alabama State.
The Bulldogs also had two players who scored in the double digits, with Mickell Gladness pulling in 17 points and Jonathan Belt adding 12.
