DuBois scores 17 to lead W. Illinois past Centenary 68-67
MACOMB, Ill. (AP)—David DuBois scored 17 points to help Western Illinois edge Centenary 68-67 in Summit League play Saturday night.
The Leathernecks (12-14, 7-8 Summit) also got a boost from David Jackson, who posted a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds. Chris Gonzalez chipped in ten points and had six assists.
Lance Hill brought the Gents (9-17, 3-11) within one with 1:17 left in the game, but Centenary couldn’t make the extra points happen.
Both Hill and Jamere King had eleven points for the Gents, while Tyrone Hamilton scored 15 points and had four assists. Nick Stallings had the game’s other double-double with a game-high 20 points—15 of them in the second half— and 12 rebounds.
Western Illinois led 36-30 at the half.
