Williams’ free throws lift Brown to overtime win over Princeton
PRINCETON, N.J. (AP)—Adrian Williams hit two points from the free-throw line with 40 seconds left in overtime to lift Brown to a 65-63 victory over Princeton on Saturday night.
Missed 3-pointers by the Tigers’ Noah Savage and Marcus Schroeder in the final seconds sealed the win for Brown (14-8, 6-2 Ivy).
Princeton (5-17, 2-5 Ivy) took the lead about halfway through the first period with a layup by Kevin Steuerer.
The Tigers kept the lead through much of game, until a 3-pointer by the Bears’ Peter Sullivan tied the game with 44 seconds left in the second period.
Savage hit a 3-pointer at 10 seconds to give Princeton a 59-57 lead. But Brown’s Damon Huffman scored two points from the free-throw line to tie the game and send it into overtime.
Mark McAndrew led Brown with 20 points, followed by Sullivan’s 15 points. Matt Mullery scored 12 points for the Bears.
Savage was the lead scorer for the Tigers, with 35 points.
