Fisher scores 41 points to lead Niagara over Iona 81-75
LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP)—Charron Fisher scored a game-high 41 points to lead Niagara to a 81-75 win over Iona in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action Saturday night.
It was the second straight game where Fisher scored 40-or-more points. He scored a career-high 45 against Loyola last Sunday.
Stanley Hodge added 18 points for Niagara (16-8, 10-5) and Tyrone Lewis scored 12 points.
Gary Springer led Iona (10-17, 6-9) with 21 points and 16 rebounds. Devon Clarke came off the bench for 15 points, 13 in the first half.
Clarke made it a 64-63 game when he scored an offensive rebound at 7:20 in the second half. Then Fisher took over, making two free throws, completing a three-point play and then scoring on the break for a 71-64 Niagara lead at 5:56.
Fisher also added four free throws in the game’s final 9.7 seconds to ice the game.
