Williams’ 14 points lead Pine Bluff over Southern, 60-52

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP)—Larry Williams had 14 points, Jarvis Gunter had 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Arkansas-Pine Bluff led from the start, beating Southern 60-52 on Saturday.

William Byrd added 10 points, including the game’s first basket, for Pine Bluff (11-12, 7-5 Southwestern Athletic Conference), which led 32-24 at halftime.

Pine Bluff made eight points before Chris Davis, who finished with a game-leading 20 points, hit a 3-point shot to get the Jaguars on the board. Joe Holliday was 4-for-6 on 3-point shots, and finished with 14 points for Southern (8-15, 6-6).

Pine Bluff outrebounded Southern 42-34.
