Jenkins leads St. Peter’s to 75-68 win over Canisius
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP)—Wesley Jenkins had 18 points and Nick Leon added 17 to help lift the St. Peter’s to a 75-68 win over Canisius in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play Saturday.
Todd Sowell contributed 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Darrell Lampley had 11 points for the Peacocks (6-19, 3-12), who snapped a two-game losing streak and won for the first time this season on the road.
Greg Logins led Canisius with 15 points. Rishawn Johnson chipped in 13, and Frank Turner and Bob Bevilacqua had 12 points apiece. The Griffins (4-21, 2-13) lost for the fourth straight time.
Down by 14 at the break, the Griffins took a 66-65 lead with 2:47 to go when Logins hit a short jumper. But the Peacocks finished the game on a 10-2 run, with all but two of the points coming on free throws.
