NEW YORK (AP)—Mark Porter scored a career-high 28 points, eight in the second overtime, as Wagner outlasted Sacred Heart 100-92 Thursday night, snapping the Pioneers’ eight-game winning streak.
Joey Mundweiler and James Ulrich each scored 18 points for the Seahawks (18-6, 11-2 Northeast Conference).
Durell Vinson had 17 points and a game-high 14 rebounds for his ninth double-double of the season and 23rd of his career.
Brice Brooks topped Sacred Heart (14-11, 11-3) with 21 points. Corey Hassan added 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Sacred Heart’s Drew Shubik made one of two free throws with 4 seconds remaining to send the game into the first overtime tied at 72.
Hassan’s jumper with :46 to play forced the second overtime and tied it at 84.
Behind Porter, Wagner took command in the second overtime, outscoring the Pioneers 16-8. Vinson’s jumper at 3:05 gave the Seahawks the lead for good.
