Iati’s 23 points lead Albany 74-60 over Maine

ORONO, Maine (AP)—Reserve Jon Iati hit three 3-pointers and a free throw as Albany, N.Y., scored the last 20 points of the first half to take control and defeat Maine 74-60 on Thursday night.

Iati, who finished with 23 points, hit consecutive threes to pull Albany even at 27, and his third trey and a free throw put the Great Danes ahead 37-27, a lead that reached 39-27 at the break. Iati finished with six 3-pointers in nine tries, and also had five rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes.

Brian Connelly added 14 points and Brent Wilson 13 for Albany (13-12, 8-5 America East).

Maine (7-17, 3-8) never got closer than six in the second half, the last time at 50-44.

Phil Tchekane Bofia led the Black Bears with 19 points and Mark Socoby had 14.
