Dansby’s 28 lifts Belmont over ETSU 87-75

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP)—Shane Dansby scored 28 points, hitting 12-of-15 from the floor, as Belmont beat East Tennessee State 87-75 Thursday night to stay atop the Atlantic Sun standings.

Belmont (18-8, 10-2 Atlantic Sun) led all the way including 47-27 at the half.

Matthew Dotson scored 12 for Belmont, Keaton Belcher had 11 and reserve Andy Wicke 10.

ETSU (14-11, 8-4 A-Sun) had won six of its last seven. Courtney Pigram led the Buccaneers with 16 points, reserve Kevin Tiggs scored 14 and Travis Strong and Mike Smith had 13 apiece.

Belmont shot 53.4 percent for the game compared to 39.2 percent for ETSU. The Bruins controlled the boards 44-37.
