Bargeman’s last-second shot gives Northwestern St. OT win over UCA
CONWAY, Ark. (AP)—Playing in its fourth overtime game this season, Central Arkansas couldn’t pull out a win Saturday against Northwestern State, falling 67-66 after going scoreless for the last 3 1/2 minutes of the extra period.
The Bears (13-10, 3-6 Southland Conference) forced overtime on a jumper by Marcus Pillow with 13 seconds remaining. In the extra period, Colby Bargeman scored in the lane with a second remaining to take the win for the Demons (10-13, 6-3).
Nate Bowie led Central Arkansas with 17 points. Pillow added 14, York Sims chipped in 12 and Durrell Nevels had 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Brian Marks had a career-high 17 rebounds.
Bargeman and Trey Gilder each had 14 points for Northwestern State—and Gilder had 14 rebounds as well. Keithan Hancock added 12 for the Demons.
Last weekend, Central Arkansas topped Nicholls State 98-96 in double overtime.
