Tomko’s 24 leads hot-shooting Wilmington past James Madison
WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP)—Chad Tomko scored 24 points to lead hot shooting North Carolina Wilmington to a 99-85 victory against James Madison on Saturday night.
The Seahawks (15-10, 8-5 Colonial Athletic Association) shot 61.8 percent (34-of-55) to snap a two game losing streak. The Dukes shot 48.3 percent (29-of-60).
Abdulai Jalloh scored 37 points for James Madison (11-12, 4-9) , making 13 of his 18 shots and shooting 4-of-7 on 3-pointers. He also had seven rebounds.
UNC Wilmington led by three at half, but stretched its lead out to 18 points with just over four minutes left.
Daniel Fountain and T.J. Carter each added 20 points for the Seahawks, while Vladmir Kuljanin added 15 points and seven rebounds.
Heiden Ratner scored 16 points and Juwann James added 15 for the Dukes.
