Achara, Jacksons lead Duquesne to a 101-84 victory over La Salle
PHILADELPHIA (AP)—Kieron Achara scored 21 points and led five players in double figures as Duquesne beat La Salle 101-84 on Saturday.
Reggie Jackson had 19 points and Aaron Jackson contributed 18 for Duquesne (15-7, 5-4 Atlantic 10). Gary Tucker scored 16 points and Shawn James added 13 while Damian Saunders pulled down 10 rebounds.
Rodney Green scored 24 points for La Salle (9-13, 4-5), while Paul Johnson and Darnell Harris each added 14 and Jerrell Williams had 11.
Duquesne took a quick 10-2 lead in the first half, but Jerrell Williams hit a jumper with less than three minutes remaining in the half to tie the score 35-35. Duquesne went on a 10-2 run to end the half with a 45-37 advantage.
In the second half, the Dukes went on an early 16-8 run to open a 61-45 lead. Harris hit a pair of 3-pointers with 11:11 remaining to get La Salle within two, 65-63, but the Dukes pulled away and ended the game outscoring the Explorers 18-10 to seal the win.
