North Texas’ comeback falls short in loss to Ark.-Little Rock
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP)—Arkansas-Little Rock had three players with 17 points apiece to pull out an 84-82 win over North Texas on Saturday.
North Texas (14-9, 5-7 Sun Belt Conference) erased a 6-point UALR lead with a minute remaining, after Josh White hit a 3-pointer, then was fouled on another play while shooting from the perimeter. He made all three free throws.
The Trojans (15-8, 7-5) eased ahead to 84-82 on free throws, and Shane Edwards’ potential game-tying shot for North Texas was knocked out of bounds by Arkansas-Little Rock’s Shane Edwards.
Steven Moore, John Fowler and Matt Mouzy each scored 17 for the Trojans, and Edwards added 14. Arkansas-Little Rock had a season-low eight turnovers in the game.
Ben Bell scored 22 points for the Mean Green. Collin Dennis added 14, Keith Wooden had 12 and White finished with 11.
