GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP)—Ryan Tillema scored seven of his 13 points in overtime— including the go-ahead 3-pointer and the clinching free throws—as Wisconsin-Green Bay defeated Valparaiso 76-71 in a Horizon League game Thursday night.

Terry Evans had 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead Green Bay (13-9, 7-5).

Brandon McPherson scored 16 of his 20 points in the first half for Valparaiso (14-9, 5-6).

McPherson hit all five of his 3-point attempts in the first half but went 0-for-3 from 3-point range in the second half and overtime.

The Crusaders led 40-24 with 18:24 left after one of four 3-pointers by Shawn Huff, who finished with 14 points.

But the Phoenix battled back and the score was tied at 66 at the end of regulation after McPherson’s driving attempt with 3 seconds left was deflected by Evans.

Freshman Rahmon Fletcher added 14 points and Mike Schachtner had 13 points for Green Bay, which avenged a 82-73 loss at Valparaiso on Jan. 12.

Green Bay honored former coach Dick Bennett with a halftime ceremony. The school named its practice court after Bennett.
