McKiver’s 33 points leads Houston past Tulsa, 92-81
HOUSTON (AP)—Robert McKiver scored a game-high 33 points to help lead Houston to a 92-81 victory over Tulsa Wednesday night.
McKiver went 10-of-18 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. He scored 18 points on 3-pointers, going 60 percent from behind the arc.
Kelvin Lewis added 15 points for Houston (17-4, 6-1 Conference USA). Tafari Toney scored 13 and Lanny Smith had 11.
Ben Uzoh’s 17 points led five players scoring in double figures for Tulsa (10-10, 2-6).
Calvin Walls scored 13 and Ray Reese added 12. Glenn Andrews and Justin Hurtt came off the bench to add 11 and 12, respectively.
Jerome Jordan led the Golden Hurricane with 11 rebounds.
Tulsa shot 43 percent from the field to 49 percent for Houston. Tulsa won the rebounding contest, 44-31.
