Kilpatrick ices Idaho State’s 63-59 win over Weber St.

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP)—Idaho State held off a late surge and Austin Kilpatrick scored four points in the final minute to secure the Bengals’ 63-59 victory over Weber State on Saturday.

With the game tied at 56 and just 49 seconds left to play, Kilpatrick caught an inbound pass and drained a long 3-pointer as the shot clock expired to put Idaho State on top.

Kilpatrick then grabbed a rebound on the other end, took a foul and sank one of two free throws to extend the lead for Idaho State (9-13, 6-3 Big Sky). The Bengals hit enough free throws to counter the final efforts of Weber State (11-10, 6-3).

Matt Stucki led Idaho State with 18 points, and Logan Kinghorn added 12. Kinghorn led the Bengals’ rebounding efforts with 11.

Idaho State led by 13 with just over 10 minutes remaining, but Weber State whittled away at the deficit to make it close.

Arturas Valeika led the Wildcats with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Also scoring in double figures for Weber State were Kellen McCoy with 11 and Daviin Davis with 10.

Lucas Steijn scored 9 of Idaho State’s first 12 points, en route to a 29-24 halftime lead.
