Ruffin leads Bradley to 72-59 win over Evansville
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP)—Daniel Ruffin sank five 3-pointers and scored 19 points to lead Bradley to a 72-59 win over Evansville Saturday night.
Ruffin also led Bradley (13-10, 6-5) with six assists in the Missouri Valley Conference win.
Evansville (6-15, 1-10) jumped out to an early lead, but the Braves started to take control after Andrew Warren hit two free-throws to put Bradley up 15-14 with 7:42 left in the first half.
Bradley then went on a 9-2 run and ended the half with a 35-19 lead. Evansville never got closer than 10 points in the second half.
Warren finished with 13 points for Bradley, and Sam Maniscalo added 11 points and five assists.
Shy Ely led the Purple Aces with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Jason Holsinger added 12 points as the only other Evansville player to reach double figures. Evansville hit 40 percent of its field goals and only 24 percent of its 3-pointers.
Bradley beat Evansville 77-76 two weeks ago and has now won six in a row against the Purple Aces and eight of the last nine.
