Leasure leads Coastal Carolina past Charleston Southern 85-78
CONWAY, S.C. (AP)—Jack Leasure scored 23 points to lead Coastal Carolina past the Charleston Southern 85-78 on Saturday.
Mario Sisinni scored eight of his 16 points in overtime for the Chanticleers (10-10, 3-4 Big South), who outscored the Buccaneers 18-11 in the extra session to snap a three-game losing streak.
Sisinni hit a 3-pointer 20 seconds into overtime to give Coastal Carolina a 70-67 lead and put the Chanticleers in the lead for good.
Logan Johnson had 15 points, David Long scored 12 and Phil Wallace finished with 11 for Coastal Carolina. Steven Sexton had just five points for the Chanticleers, but it was his 3-pointer as time expired in regulation that sent the game into overtime.
Chris Moore scored 22 points and hit five 3-pointers, Omar Carter finished with 20 on 8-of-18 shooting and Jamarco Warren had 16 points but was just 5-of-21 from the field and 3-of-11 from 3-point range for Charleston Southern (7-15, 1-6).
