Western runs aways in second half against Ark.-Little Rock
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP)—Courtney Lee scored 12 of his 18 points in the second half as Western Kentucky beat Arkansas-Little Rock 71-47 Thursday night.
The Hilltoppers outscored Arkansas-Little Rock by 26 points in the second half.
Western (17-5, 9-1 Sun Belt) trailed 27-25 at halftime, but opened a second-half lead, going up 49-37 on A.J. Slaughter’s 3-point basket with 9:13 to play.
Slaughter’s basket capped a 9-2 Western Kentucky run over a span of 3:04 that put the game away.
Arkansas-Little Rock (14-7, 6-4) struggled to score in the second half, making just 5 of 24 shots from the floor after halftime.
Slaughter scored 15 of his season-high 17 points in the second half. Tyrone Brazelton added 14 points and Orlando Mendez-Valdez 11 for Western Kentucky.
De’Andre Eggins finished with 22 points for Arkansas-Little Rock.
