Jefferson leads High Point to 70-68 win over Radford
RADFORD, Va. (AP)—Mike Jefferson hit a 3-pointer with 15 seconds left to give High Point a 70-68 victory over Radford on Monday night.
Radford led by as much as 13 points in the first half and was ahead 35-30 at the break. High Point battled back in the second half and took its largest lead with 5:19 left when Cruz Daniels hit a pair of free throws to make it 57-55.
Kenny Thomas made a 3-pointer with 30 seconds left to put Radford ahead 68-66. After a High Point timeout, Jefferson made the game-winning 3-pointer and sealed the Panthers’ victory with a free throw with one second left.
Jefferson finished with 14 points and four rebounds. Arizona Reid led High Point (11-9, 3-3 Big South) with 22 points and seven rebounds. Eugene Harris added 13 points.
Thomas finished with 22 points and four rebounds to lead Radford (5-15, 0-5). Martell McDuffy added 18 points and Joey Lynch-Flohr had 11.
