Ewing, Rush lead North Carolina A&T to 5th straight win

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP)—Austin Ewing and Steven Rush each scored 20 points on Monday night to lead North Carolina A&T to its fifth straight win, 82-77 over South Carolina State.

The Aggies (10-9, 4-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) led by 19 points late in the first half before withstanding a second-rally by the Bulldogs (6-14, 2-4 MEAC).

Jessie Burton scored 22 points and Julius Carter had 13 points and 12 rebounds for South Carolina State, which lost its second straight game despite scoring 54 points in the second half.

Ewing hit four of North Carolina A&T’s 10 3-pointers, while Rush went 10-for-10 from the free-throw line. Ed Jones added 12 points off the bench.

South Carolina State held a 46-29 rebounding advantage but committed 23 turnovers.
