Agudio’s 28 points lead Hofstra to 75-60 victory over Longwood
HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP)—Antoine Agudio scored 28 points to lead Hofstra to a 75-60 victory over Longwood on Monday night, the Lancers’ eighth straight loss.
Agudio, who went over the 2,000-point mark in a win over Northeastern on Saturday, was 5-for-8 from 3-point range. Nathaniel Lester had 13 points for the Pride (6-13), while Dane Johnson added 12 points, five rebounds, seven blocks and four assists and Greg Johnson had 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Kirk Williams had 19 points and Lamar Barrett added 14 for Longwood (4-20).
A layup by Williams gave Longwood a 28-22 lead but Agudio had five points as Hofstra closed the half on an 11-0 run to take a 33-28 halftime lead.
Barrett’s basket with 15:29 to play tied the game at 42, but the Pride responded with a 21-1 run. Agudio had seven points in the run, including the 3-pointer that closed it with 11:11 left.
