Jacksonville leads all the way in beating SC Upstate 68-51
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP)—Andre McMillan scored 12 points to lead Jacksonville to a 68-51 win against South Carolina Upstate in Atlantic Sun Conference action Sunday.
The Dolphins (10-9, 6-1) scored the game’s first bucket—a Lehmon Colbert 3-pointer with 18:17 left in the half—and never trailed. Colbert finished with 11 points and eight rebounds.
The Spartans (4-17, 2-5) shot poorly—just 28 percent in the first half— and turned the ball over 17 times to Jacksonville’s seven turnovers. They were led by Jeremy Byrd with 10 points.
Ayron Hardy added 11 points for the Dolphins while Ben Smith had 10.
Jacksonville led by as many as 32 with 10:12 left in the game and led 33-16 at the half.
