Brown’s career-high 35 lifts Black Knights over Navy
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP)—Jarell Brown scored a career-high 35 points, including the game-winning basket with 13 seconds to play, and Army edged Navy 69-67 on Sunday.
Brown had 22 points in the second half, including Army’s final 9 points, as the Black Knights (9-10, 2-3) overcame a 9-point deficit with 10:43 to play.
Josh Miller added 11 points for Army, eight assists and six rebounds; and Doug Williams added 10 points and six rebounds.
The 107th meeting between the service academy rivals featured the Patriot League’s two leading scorers, Brown and Navy’s Greg Sprink, and was played before a sellout crowd of 5,710.
Army has won three of the last five games at Navy. But Navy (9-11, 2-3) leads the series 60-47.
Sprink, the league’s top scorer, was 6-of-15 from the floor and scored 20 points for the Mids. Chris Harris also had 20 for the Mids, who shot just 34.4 percent for the game to Army’s 45.6 per cent. Adam Teague added 13 points for Navy.
