Bowie’s 19 pts tops UCA in 57-43 win over McNeese
CONWAY, Ark. (AP)—Nate Bowie scored 19 points Saturday to lead Central Arkansas to a 57-43 victory over McNeese State.
Neither team was shooting well, with McNeese (8-9, 2-3 Southland Conference) hitting only 28 percent of its shots from the field, and UCA (12-8, 2-4) only slightly better at 34 percent. McNeese sank only 50 percent of its free throws.
The hometown Bears led 30-19 at the half.
Marcus Pillow scored 15 points for the Bears, and York Sims added 14, while grabbing 10 rebounds as well.
The only two players for the Cowboys scoring in double digits also both achieved double-doubles on the night, with John Pichon scoring 12 points and snaring 17 rebounds and Jarvis Bradley also finishing with 12 points while getting 11 rebounds.
