NJIT remains winless, falls to Texas-Pan American
NEWARK, N.J. (AP)—Nathan Hawkins scored a game-high 15 points to lead Texas-Pan American to a 54-42 over the New Jersey Institute of Technology on Saturday, extending the Highlanders losing streak to 25 games.
Zach Trader added 12 points and Paul Stoll finished with nine points, nine steals and six assists for the Broncs (13-10), who won their sixth straight game. Jheryl Wilson had 11 points and Justin Garris added 10 for the Highlanders (0-21).
The Broncs also won the battle of the boards, outrebounding NJIT 43-33.
Texas-Pan American, which never trailed, took command of the game with a 20-3 run that spanned eight minutes, from the end of the first half through the opening minutes of the second half.
NJIT’s is the only winless school in Division I. Its last win came on Feb. 19, 2007, when they beat Longwood.
