Thomas scores 17, leads Murray St. past SE Missouri
MURRAY, Ky.—(AP)—Danero Thomas made four of eight 3-point attempts to lead all scorers with 17 points as Murray State bet Southeast Missouri State 86-85 on Saturday.
The game came down to the wire and had 10 lead changes. The Racers went up for good on a pair of Tyler Holloway free throws with 5.8 seconds left in the game. Holloway also had 17 points for the Racers.
On the ensuing Redhawks possession, Roderick Pearson drove the length of the floor but his lay-up missed of the front iron.
The Redhawks took the lead early in the first half with a 17-4 run, getting up by as many as 12. They held the lead until 11:48 left in the second half, when the Racers came back with a 17-6 run of their own.
Bruce Carter had a double-double, with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Tony Easley and Kevin Thomas both added 11 points.
Kenard Moore and Jaycen Herring each had 14 points for the Redhawks. Moore went four of six from the 3-point line. Michael Rembert had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Roderick Pearson had 11 points.
