Goode’s 17 points lead Mount St. Mary’s to 80-66 victory over Long Island U.
NEW YORK (AP)—Jeremy Goode scored 17 points to lead Mount St. Mary’s to an 80-66 victory over Long Island University on Saturday.
Will Holland had 14 points for the Mountaineers (9-11, 5-4 Northeast Conference), who had all five starters score in double figures. Chris Vann and Sam Atupem both had 11 points for the visitors, one more than Markus Mitchell.
Jaytornah Wisseh scored all 17 of his points in second half for the Blackbirds (10-9, 2-6), who lost their third straight, while Kyle Johnson added 15.
The Mountaineers took the lead for good at 20-19 on a free throw by Kelly Beidler with 6:32 left in the first half and they led 33-26 at halftime.
A 3-pointer by Holland with 11:10 to play gave the Mountaineers their biggest lead, 56-41.
