N. Dakota St. rolls over S. Dakota St. 90-63
FARGO, N.D. (AP)—Ben Woodside had 25 points, six assists and five rebounds Friday to lead North Dakota State to a 90-63 Summit League basketball victory over South Dakota State.
Woodside made eight of 14 shots from the field and went 8-for-10 from the line for NDSU (11-9, 5-4). The Bison were 8-for-14 from 3-point range.
Michael Tveidt, who made all four of his 3-point attempts, finished with 16 points. Brett Winkelman also had 16 points for the Bison.
NDSU shot 64 percent and drained six 3-pointer in building a 56-28 halftime lead. SDSU (7-13, 2-7) shot 41 percent in the first half.
The Jackrabbits took their only lead of the game on Kai Williams’ 3-pointer just 13 seconds into the first half. But the Bison came right back with seven straight points. They stretched their lead to 30-9 with 10:13 left in the first half and their biggest lead was 31 points with 16:09 left to play.
Williams led the Jackrabbits in scoring with 17 points. He had two of SDSU’s five 3-pointers. Ben Beran added 12 points.
SDSU turned the ball over 18 times, leading to 28 Bison points.
