Wildcats stay undefeated in SoCon play
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP)—Stephen Curry had 28 points to keep Davidson perfect in Southern Conference play with an 87-70 victory over Citadel on Thursday night.
Curry, the Wildcats’ stylish sophomore and the son of former NBA standout Dell Curry, had 15 of his team’s first 22 points and had 18 points by halftime as Davidson led 41-33.
It was the 13th time this season Curry has had 20 or more points.
Citadel got the opening bucket of the second half to pull within six points, but that’s the closest the Bulldogs would get as Davidson pulled away for its 20th straight conference win dating back to last season.
The Wildcats led by as many as 25 points in the second half.
Andrew Lovedale had 13 points and Thomas Sander 12 for the Wildcats (13-6, 10-0 Southern Conference).
Austin Dahn led the Citadel (5-13, 0-9) with 19 points.
