Lehigh 63, Colgate 60
BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP)—Freshman Prentice Small scored 19 points and sophomore Zahir Carrington finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds, leading Lehigh to a 63-60 win over Colgate on Wednesday night.
Lehigh (9-9, 2-2 Patriot League) rallied from a halftime deficit for the second consecutive game.
Kendall Chones scored 18 points and Kyle Roemer 16 for Colgate (9-9, 1-3), which was limited to 34 percent shooting, including 29 percent in the second half.
Lehigh opened the second half with a 10-5 run that erased a five-point halftime deficit and tied the score at 33. The Mountain Hawks used a 22-14 run to take a 55-47 lead.
Lehigh led by nine with 1:21 left, but Colgate tried to rally, closing within two points on a 3-pointer by Mike Venezia.
Lehigh’s Matt Szalachowski hit the first of two free throws in the final seconds and Colgate’s last shot fell short.
