Reid carries High Point to 73-47 rout of Charleston Southern
HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP)—Arizona Reid had 24 points and 16 rebounds to lead hot-shooting High Point past Charleston Southern 73-47 on Monday night.
Reid scored 10 points in a 15-1 run early in the second half to give the Panthers a 54-33 lead. Eugene Harris added 14 points and Mike Jefferson had 13 points and 10 assists for High Point (9-8, 2-2 Big South Conference), which shot 51 percent.
Jamarco Warren scored 16 points, but was the only double-figure scorer for Charleston Southern (7-12, 1-3), which shot 32 percent.
The Buccaneers, who were outrebounded 41-25, trailed by as many as 28 points in the second half in their second straight loss.
Jefferson, who became the school’s career leader with 378 assists, had only two turnovers as High Point bounced back from a loss to Coastal Carolina on Saturday that snapped a 10-game home winning streak.
