Anderson scores 21 in Quinnipiac’s 84-80 win over Long Island U.
HAMDEN, Conn. (AP)James Feldeine scored 10 straight points in a two-minute stretch late in the game to lead Quinnipiac over Long Island 84-80 on Saturday.
Feldeine finished with 18 points.
He began his run with a driving layup with 3:14 to play, tying the game at 68. He then hit a three-pointer and scored on a putback to give Quinnipiac a 73-68 lead, and they never trailed again.
DeMario Anderson led the Bobcats (10-8, 6-1 NEC) with 21 points, his fifth straight game with at least 20 points.
Jaytonah Wisseh led Long Island with 23 points—all but two of them coming in the second half—as Long Island erased a nine-point halftime deficit to claim a three-point second-half lead.
Kellen Allen added 20 points for the Blackbirds (10-7, 2-4) and David Hicks had 18.
Quinnipiac shot 46 percent from the field for the game, its first conference game shooting under 50 percent. The Bobcats hit 8-of-14 shots from three-point range and have now won four straight.
