Grambling’s first win of season—72-67 over Texas Southern

RUSTON, La. (AP)—Andre Ratliff had 18 points and Anthony Williams 16 points and 15 rebounds as Grambling State notched its first victory this season, beating Texas Southern 72-67 on Saturday.

GSU (1-11, 1-4 SWAC) never trailed. Texas Southern (4-13, 3-1) managed ties at 4 and 6 points; Grambling went ahead for good on a 3-point shot by Williams with 14:13 left in the first half, which ended 32-20.

Jamal Breaux and Jordan Lemons had 10 points each for Grambling.

Sollie Norwood and Raymond Robinson had 14 points each for Texas Southern, and Kevin Abanobi added 11. Johnathan Frazier had 10 rebounds.
