Curry, Davidson cruise past Chattanooga, 85-58
DAVIDSON, N.C. (AP)—Stephen Curry hit eight 3-pointers and scored 37 points and Davidson stayed unbeaten in Southern Conference play with an 85-58 win over Chattanooga on Saturday.
In his third game of 30 or more points this season, Curry shot 8-of-14 from 3-point range and was 12-of-21 from the field while for the Wildcats (10-6, 8-0), who were never threatened in their sixth straight win.
Jason Richards, who leads the nation in assists per game, had nine assists and 13 points and Boris Meno scored 12 points for Davidson, which shot 51 percent and led by as many as 31 points in winning its 18th straight Southern Conference regular season game.
Nicchaeus Doaks had 12 points and seven rebounds for the Mocs (12-7, 7-2), who were held to 37 percent shooting and committed 23 turnovers in their second straight loss. Stephen McDowell added 11 points, but shot 3-for-13 from 3-point range.
Curry, who was two points shy of his career high set earlier this season against North Carolina State, hit six 3s in the first half as Davidson built a 41-24 lead.
