Green scores 27 to lead SE Louisiana over Texas State 84-83
SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP)—Kevyn Green scored 27 points and Dekyron Nicks hit two key free throws with nine seconds left to help Southeastern Louisiana defeat Texas State 84-83.
Texas State (8-8, 1-2 Southland Conference) cut Southeastern Louisiana’s lead to 82-80 on a couple of free throws by Ryan White with 23 seconds left. After Nicks hit his free throws, Texas State’s Brent Benson hit a 3-pointer with a second left for the final margin.
Green scored 23 of his points in the first half as Southeastern (10-6, 2-1) shot 74 percent from the field and took a 45-36 lead at halftime.
Warrell Span scored 20 points for the Lions. Tavaris Nance added 14 points and Patrick Sullivan had 10.
Brandon Bush led Texas State with 19 points. Chris Agwumaro scored 13 and Dylan Moseley 12 for Bobcats.
