Harrison scores 25 in Coppin State victory
DURHAM, N.C. (AP)—Antwan Harrison had 25 points off the bench to lead Coppin State to a 66-62 victory and hand North Carolina Central its 17th straight loss Wednesday night.
It looked like North Carolina Central (1-22) might break its long losing streak—its lone victory came against Tennessee Tech in November—as it held a 56-52 lead after Charles Futrell’s two foul shots with 3:32 left. North Carolina Central was still ahead more than a minute later on Futrell’s bucket with 2:17 to go that made it 58-56.
However, Coppin State outscored their opponents 10-4 down the stretch, four of those points came from Harrison, to pull out the victory.
Tywain McKee added 14 points for Coppin State (4-13).
Futrell led North Carolina Central with 28 points and 10 rebounds.
