Western Michigan shoots 57.4 percent to rout Ball State
MUNCIE, Ind. (AP)—Joe Reitz scored 15 points and Western Michigan shot 65.2 percent after the break to rout Ball State 71-45 Wednesday night in the Mid-American Conference.
David Kool scored 13 for the Broncos (8-8, 2-1 MAC), who shot 57.4 percent from the field for the game. Shawntes Gary and Andre Ricks had 10 apiece.
The Broncos outrebounded the Cardinals 39-27 and scored 10 points off turnovers. Western Michigan’s bench outscored Ball State’s 26-3.
Peyton Stovall had 18 points to lead Ball State (2-13, 1-2), which trailed 30-19 at the break. Anthony Newell scored 13 points. Three other Ball State players scored a combined 14 points.
The Broncos outscored the Cardinals 38-16 in the paint.
Ball State shot just 23.1 percent from the field.
