Johnson helps SC State beat Maryland-Eastern Shore 68-60

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP)—Jason Johnson had 16 points and 12 rebounds Monday night to help South Carolina State beat Maryland-Eastern Shore 68-60.

Carrio Bennett also had 16 points for the Bulldogs (5-11, 1-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference).

Denzel Jackson and Marc Davis each had 13 points for Maryland-Eastern Shore (2-14, 0-2).

S.C. State led 31-24 at halftime and pushed it to 48-36 on a 3-pointer by Robert Baker midway through the second half. Johnson’s dunk gave the Bulldogs their biggest lead at 55-40 with 7 1/2 minutes left to play.

The Hawks got no closer than seven in the final minutes.
