Charleston Southern uses strong 2nd half to beat Radford 90-74
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP)—Freshman Omar Carter scored 17 of his season-high 25 points in the second half Monday night to help Charleston Southern beat Radford 90-74.
Jamarco Warren had 21 points for the Buccaneers (7-10, 1-1 Big South Conference), who shot 60 percent in the second half to turn a seven-point halftime lead into a double-figure margin. Charleston Southern had lost five of six games coming in, but took a 39-32 halftime lead and increased the margin to 17 midway through the second half.
Kenny Thomas had 21 points to lead the Highlanders (5-12, 0-2), while Amir Johnson finished with 17. Radford has lost six of its last seven games.
