Nurse scores 22 points to lead W. Illinois 83-67 over N. Dakota St.

MACOMB, Ill. (AP)—Sophomore David Nurse scored 22 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Western Illinois to a 83-67 win over North Dakota State on Saturday night.

David Jackson added 20 points and had four assists and Jerryck Owens-Murrey had 14 points, including six rebounds, for the Leathernecks (8-8, 3-2). James Washington came off the bench and scored 12 points and had five assists for Western Illinois.

The Leathernecks led 35-32 at the half in a game that featured six lead changes.

Western Illinois shot 29-for-52 from the field, or about 56 percent, compared with North Dakota State’s (8-9, 2-4) 20-for-46 from the field, or about 44 percent.

Ben Woodside scored 22 points and had seven rebounds and seven assists for the Bison. Brett Winkelman, who was 6-for-6 from the free-throw line, chipped in 16 points including six rebounds. Mike Nelson added 15 points including five rebounds for North Dakota State.
