Jalloh leads James Madison past N.C.-Wilmington
HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP)—Abdulai Jalloh scored 22 points to lead hot-shooting James Madison to a 93-74 victory over North Carolina-Wilmington on Saturday night.
The Dukes (10-5, 3-2 Colonial Athletic Association) shot 58 percent from the field to the Seahawks’ 37 percent.
Wilmington (9-8, 2-3) took a 19-16 lead on Vladimir Kuljanin’s layup with 10:27 left in the first half, but Juwann James’ jumper capped a 19-6 James Madison run that put the Dukes in control 35-25 just over four minutes before the break.
The Dukes continued to pull away in the second half. A James layup gave James Madison its biggest lead, 92-68, with 1:47 left.
James and Pierre Curtis each scored 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting. James also had 11 rebounds. Terrance Carter added 17 points for the Dukes.
Daniel Fountain led five Seahawks in double figures with 14 points. Kuljanin had 13 points and 10 rebounds. T.J. Carter, Josh Sheets and Dominique Lacy scored 10 points each.
