Womack leads St. Francis, N.Y. past Fairleigh Dickinson
HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP)—Jamaal Womack scored 19 points—one of five St. Francis of New York players in double figures—as the Terriers held off Fairleigh Dickinson 88-83 on Saturday night.
Ricky Cadell added 18 points and Robert Hines and Bass Yessoufou both finished with 17 for the Terriers (5-12, 2-4 in Northeast Conference), while Marcus Williams added 11 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
Manny Ubilla led all scorers with 30 points and added eight assists and three steals for the Knights (5-9, 1-3), while Sean Baptiste finished with 27 points.
St. Francis never trailed in the game and held several double-digit leads, but could not put away the Knights, who trailed by as much as 20 points in the second half.
FDU eventually cut the lead to 84-80 on a 3-pointer by Eric Hazard with 24 seconds left to play, but Womack then sealed the win by going 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
