McLendon’s 2 free throws give Hartford 80-79 win over Binghamton
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP)—Warren McLendon hit two free throws with 2.4 seconds left to lift Hartford to an 80-79 win over Binghamton on Wednesday night.
The Hawks (7-9, 1-0 America East) had to hold on after Binghamton (5-10, 1-2) erased a 10-point deficit with under 5 minutes to play. Milos Klimovic’s 3-pointer gave the Bearcats a 79-78 lead with 11 seconds remaining. But the Hawks got the ball in the post to McLendon, who was fouled and ultimately iced the win.
Jaret Von Rosenberg led Hartford with 23 points. McLendon finished with 19 points.
Dwayne Jackson led Binghamton with 24 points and seven rebounds. He was 12-of-13 from the line.
