Nutter leads Seton Hall over Morgan St.
NEWARK, N.J. (AP)—Senior guard Jamar Nutter scored a career-high 29 points, Brian Laing added 20, and Seton Hall used its wealth of guards to fuel a 89-81 win over Morgan St. Saturday at the Prudential Center.
Four players scored in double figures for the Pirates (10-4), including freshman Jeremy Hazell, who had 15 points, and sophomore Eugene Harvey, who added 12; Seton Hall shot a blistering 50.8 percent (31 of 61).
Jamar Smith had 28 points for the Bears, including 11 from the free throw line. It was the third loss in a row for Morgan St., who shot just 38.7 percent, and fell to 6-7 on the year.
The Bears pulled close in the second half. Smith drained a 3-pointer to make it 63-54, and then a basket and free throw by Karanvir Aujla made it 63-57.
But then Nutter made one of his four 3-pointers for the game to make it 66-57 and the Pirates led by at least eight points the rest of the way.
