Tresvant’s career-high 31 helps Northridge top UC Santa Barbara 88-84

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP)—Deon Tresvant made seven 3-pointers and scored 23 of his career-high 31 points in the second half to rally Cal State Northridge to an 88-84 basketball victory at UC Santa Barbara.

The Matadors (10-3, 2-0 Big West Conference) shot 68 percent in the second half and erased a 12-point lead in the final 11:35.

They shot 49.2 percent overall but 52.4 percent from behind the 3-point line.

Alex Harris, who led Santa Barbara with 25 points, scored on a running shot for a 66-54 lead with 11:35 to go.

But a 3-pointer by Rob Haynes spurred the Matadors’ comeback, and Tresvant helped them finish it off with a trio of 3s in the final eight minutes.

Chris Devine scored 17 of his 24 points in the first half to lead the Gauchos (12-3, 1-1) to a 43-37 lead.

Josh Jenkins had nine assists for Northridge. James Powell had six for the Gauchos along with 13 points.
