Schneider’s 3s help William & Mary beat Old Dominion 70-61
NORFOLK, Va. (AP)—David Schneider scored half of his 24 points from beyond the arc as William & Mary beat Old Dominion 70-61 Saturday night.
Schneider sank three 3-pointers and a jumper during a 12-4 run to start the second half that gave William & Mary its biggest lead, 40-28. Old Dominion got no closer than five the rest of the game.
The Tribe (5-8, 1-2 Colonial Athletic Conference) jumped out to a 10-1 lead in the first half before Old Dominion hit back-to-back 3-pointers two minutes apart to get back in it. Brandon Johnson’s layup with 9:43 to go in the half tied it, but the Monarchs couldn’t get the lead and the Tribe went into the break up 28-24.
Laimis Kisielius scored 14 for the Tribe, and Danny Sumner added 11.
Ben Finney led Old Dominion (7-8, 2-1) with 17, Darius James had 12 points, and Jonathan Adams and Gerald Lee each had 11.
