Thomas leads Murray State to 92-88 win over Tennessee State

MURRAY, Ky. (AP)—Danero Thomas scored 16 points and Murray State held off a late rally to beat Tennessee State 92-88 Saturday night.

The Tigers cut Murray State’s lead with a 29-14 run in the last 5 minutes of the game, but they fell short.

The Racers (6-7, 3-3 Ohio Valley Conference) took the lead with 16:37 left in the first half, and never let the Tigers (5-8, 2-2 OVC) retake the lead.

Bruce Carter, Tony Easley and Tyler Holloway each had 15 points for the Racers and Marvin Williams scored 13 off the bench.

Bruce Price led the Tigers with 28 points, shooting 15-19 from the free throw line. Jerrell Houston added 16 points and 11 rebounds for Tennessee State.
