Zeglinski’s clutch shot lifts Hartford over Yale 73-70
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP)—Joe Zeglinski scored 22 points, including the go-ahead basket with 21.4 seconds remaining, to lead Hartford to a 73-70 win over Yale on Saturday night.
Zeglinski scored on a pullup jumper in the lane to break a 67-67 tie. After a turnover by Yale (4-8), Jaret Von Rosenberg hit a pair of free throws to give the Hawks a four-point lead.
Yale’s Eric Flato banked in a 3-pointer with 2.3 seconds to cut the lead to 71-70.
But Von Rosenberg, a 92 percent free throw shooter, hit two more foul shots with 1.5 seconds to play. Yale’s final shot missed.
Anthony Minor had 12 and Michael Turner added 11 for the Hawks (6-9), who led 31-30 at halftime.
Flato led the Bulldogs with 17, Caleb Holmes had 14 and Travis Pinick added 13.
